Fractional CTO Services

Michael Askins provided fractional CTO services otherwise known as vCTO for a regional medical group. These services included security oversight, software selection, and integrations into existing and new systems.

Financial Institution Security Assess and Remediate

Working with an auditing firm, it was identified that a regional bank needed a full scale assessment was required to identify areas of deficiency and provide a remediation plan. The work plan included a comprehensive review of the existing security posture, data security, best practices, and map to NIST controls.

Business Consulting Firm - Security - SOC2 and Cyber Essentials

A management consulting organization needed to acquire Cyber Essentials to transact business in the UK. Working with internal IT and legal, we developed a plan to place Windows 365 workstations in region for developers and app access and adjusted Azure and AWS to accomodate the required controls for compliance. The security efforts were then translated and enhanced to achieve SOC2 compliance.

Return To Work Cloud and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Architecture

A manufacturing organization needed a solution to keep knowledge workers functional and productive while safely enabling their front-line floor workers to produce industrial plastic components. The solution included Microsoft 365 with Teams, Teams for Frontline Workers, Azure Infrastructure, and Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (now Azure Virtual Desktop.

Logistics PowerApp

An organization that transports goods via land-sea-air was using a legacy manual business process. The responsible driver, operator, and pilot had to record and maintain logistics records and compliance details while providing near real-time status of in-transit shipments. ITP provided a Microsoft PowerApp with Power Automate RPA flows to interface with documentation databases, on-device location, barcode scanning, and cameras to scan and record load details.

Business Intelligence Product Selection and Enablement

Working with a global investment firm, Michael Askins performed an analysis of Oracle, Microsoft, Tableau, and SAP BI solutions with the client’s needs. Providing feature sets and executing a proof of concept with all four solutions and delivering a report-out for the organization's technology leadership and business leadership. Ultimately PowerBI was the selected platform where Michael provided enablement services for the Data and BI teams.

Tech- Global secure messaging exchange Infs

Working with the client, I provided architecture and assisted in the deployment of a global consolidation of ITAR and standard messaging and collaboration tools leveraging O365, Microsoft Exchange, and SharePoint.

Enterprise BYOD

A healthcare organization was looking for a solution to enable their users to have whichever device they were comfortable with while hardening security and delivering secure apps to perform their job. The architecture included components of O365 and Azure to compartmentalize personal data from corporate data. The management tier was simplified from 6 desperate tools to one.

 Azure Migration for GOV

An organization that provides materials for the defense sectors needed to become nimble and cloud-ready. I developed a process and with my team was able to replicate on-premises networking, storage, and computing in Azure GOV ensuring that technical objectives were met. This project was completed under budget and several weeks prior to the planned finish date.
